On Monday, Verizon Business launched an enhanced suite of enterprise mobility solutions, based on MCI's remote access suite. The new mobility suite includes endpoint security and EV-DO (evolution-data optimized) broadband wireless capability, allowing workers to access their corporate systems and the Internet while traveling or working remotely. Verizon Wireless' broadband service is available in 181 U.S. metropolitan areas, including Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, New York and Washington, D.C. The company’s ‘most reliable wireless network’ claim is based on network studies performed by real-life test men and test women who inspired the company’s national advertising campaign. The engineers conduct more than four million calls annually on the Verizon Wireless network and other national wireless carriers’ networks while traveling more than one million miles across the nation. Verizon Wireless has invested $30 billion - on average $5 billion a year - since the company was formed six years ago to increase the coverage and capacity of its national network and add new capabilities. Verizon Wireless’ substantial investment in its Louisiana network has helped insure that the network is well prepared for events such as last year’s hurricanes.
