T-Mobile USA remains a stellar performer for its parent Deutsche Telekom, adding 4.4 million new customers during 2005, with 1.4 million of those additions coming in the fourth quarter.

T-Mobile USA recorded total fourth-quarter revenue of $3.95 billion, up from $3.24 billion a year ago. The carrier reported fourth-quarter service revenue, which encompasses postpay, prepaid, roaming and other service revenue, of $3.26 billion, up from $3.15 billion in the previous quarter and $2.75 billion in the year-ago quarter.

Other revenue, which includes Wi-Fi results, came in at $213 million for the quarter, up from $40 million a year ago. Other revenue totals, however, were down from $235 million in the third quarter of 2005, a situation that T-Mobile attributes to its efforts to migrate Cingular customers to Cingular's own network in California, Nevada and New York. T-Mobile and Cingular terminated their joint venture in the fourth quarter.
